Following my previous article on the debate surrounding bee-harming pesticides within the UK, there has been significant progress in favour of the bees. Michael Gove, Secretary of State for Environmental, Food and Rural Affairs, has revealed that the UK will support a total-ban on insect-harming neonicotinoid pesticides across Europe.
In the face of Brexit negotiations in which the vulnerability of changing environmental laws throws the wellbeing of the environment into question, it is encouraging to hear that the UK government are acknowledging the necessity of a healthy ecosystem. Let’s see how this manifests itself across Europe in the upcoming year.
