One of the issues that I struggle with most is all of the plastic pollution. Our society creates so much unnecessary waste – luckily this is a solvable problem. I’ve heard of many cities across the globe start to ban single use plastics, and styrofoam, but not many Canadian cities.
Well, recently a Bulk Barn in Toronto (the Liberty Village location) as begun a pilot project allowing customers to bring their own reusable containers! This is a HUGE step in the right direction. The flimsy plastic bags that are used in grocery stores are terrible for the planet, and totally avoidable! The next step is to get rid of those bags altogether, and force consumers to be prepared and bring their own containers – or buy their own containers there.
